JULIA KUL is a young Polish artist currently on a Fullbright Grant residency in New York City. Her low-production, high-content, irresistibly hilarious videos translate systems and cultures onto one another, spotlighting absurdity of easy assumptions, otherness and fitting (or not fitting) into any particular societal stereotypes. In "Passport Reading" video Kul creates a set of commands for each letter of the alphabet and 0-9 numbers which she then uses to perform all data from her Polish passport.

Julia Kul will participate in a three person exhibition Through a glass, darkly with OASA DuVERNEY and JAYSON MUSSON at Postmasters in April 2012
